SDS Shihan Board - June 9th 2006
At the recent SDS Winter Camp Jenny Fanning, Sensei was appointed to the SDS Shihan Board! Congradulations once again SHIHAN Jenny!
The annual SDS Aiki-Jitsu clinic was held on Dec. 2nd and 3rd. On Sunday the 3rd Black Belt testing was held. Jamil Jaser, Sensei tested for 3rd Degree black belt and his 1st degree black belt in Bo-jitsu. Congradulations on passing your examinations Sensei!
Fall Camp was Oct. 14th and 15th. On Sunday the 15th a black belt testing board was held for Sensei Jenny Fanning and Sensei Micheal Peters. Sensei Jenny tested for her 4th degree blackbelt in Aiki-jitsu and her 1st Degree Black Belt in Bojutsu, while Sensei Peters tested for his 2nd degree black belt in Aiki-jitsu. Congradulations to both on successfully passing their examinations, and congradulations to Sensei Jenny on becoming the latest Master Instructor in our Aiki-jitsu program!
With the close of the Farinelli-Sage Studio's the kids afternoon program is moving to the Asian Winds Dojo. Sensei Jenny and I want to thank all the supporters of this program and look forward to continuing the program at the new location.
The Bo-Jitsu Clinic was a stunning success with cooler than expected temperatures and a great turnout. We here at Aiki-Jitsu of Tahlequah want to personally thank the participants that came out to support our program. There will definitely be more of these clinics to continue what was started and give others the opportunity to join in.
In August, we will have the first ever Bojitsu Clinic at the Asian Winds Dojo in Tahlequah Ok. The clinic will be hosted by Professor Dill, and taught by Shihans Stu and Patrick Fanning. We look forward to seeing you all there!

On June 10th at the SDS annual Awards Banquet the 2006 Black Belt of the Year was announced. Jill Hernandez, Shihan was selected by vote of the Shihan Board to be this years winner. Congradulations once again Shihan Jill!
On June 9th a Shihan meeting was called by the SDS Shihan board. Among other business, two new shihans were appointed to the board: Jill Hernandez, Shihan and Keith May, Shihan. Congradulations to our two newest members of the SDS Shihan Board!
On June 8th 2006 a testing board was convened at the Asian Winds Dojo. In addition to several other candidates in a variety of SDS arts the following Aiki-Jitsu candidates past their examinations and were promoted as follows:
Dennis Magee, Shihan - 7th dan
Patrick Fanning, Shihan - 7th dan
Stu Fanning, Shihan - 7th dan
Lyle Deiter, Shihan - 6th dan
